Ductless / mini-split · Toronto & GTA

Ductless air conditioners
installed across Toronto & the GTA

Ductless earns its place in the rooms ductwork never reached — additions, converted attics, third floors and solid-brick houses where running ducts would mean opening walls.

Ductless cooling & heating

What is a ductless air conditioner?

It is not the right answer everywhere. In a house with sound ductwork already in place, a central system is usually simpler and less visible. Ductless wins where there is no duct path, where one room is persistently out of step with the rest, or where zoning matters more than a single set-point.

The design decisions are head placement and zoning. A unit put where the wiring was convenient rather than where the air needs to move will underperform for years, and one outdoor unit serving too many heads leaves every room slightly disappointing at once.

Most systems we install heat as well as cool, which changes the arithmetic for a room that was always too warm in August and too cold in January. It is worth planning both jobs at the same time.

What matters most for ductless mini-split systems in the GTA
Right sizing, licensed gas/refrigeration work, and commissioning beat the cheapest sticker price. We verify airflow, safety devices, condensate paths, and controls so your system does not fail the first extreme week of the season. Ask us about dual-fuel, zoning, and rebate-eligible models during your quote.
Rebates may apply to cold-climate ductless heat pumps
Qualifying heat-pump mini-splits can unlock Enbridge or federal incentives. We flag eligible models on your quote — view GTA rebate programs.

Why Toronto Air Systems

Why choose Toronto Air Systems for ductless

Mini-splits fail when they are undersized, poorly drained, or installed with sloppy line sets. We treat ductless like any other Ontario HVAC system — load, code, and commissioning.

FAQ

Ductless FAQ — Toronto

A quality single-zone install typically ranges from roughly $4,000–$8,000+ CAD depending on brand, capacity, and line-set length. Multi-zone systems scale with head count and outdoor size. We quote after a site visit.
Yes — cold-climate heat-pump mini-splits heat efficiently in shoulder seasons and many winter days. Extreme deep freezes may still need furnace backup; we design dual-fuel strategies when needed.
No. That is the point of ductless. You need outdoor space, an electrical circuit, a refrigerant line path, and a condensate drain plan.
Modern indoor heads are very quiet on low fan. Outdoor units are comparable to other heat pumps. We discuss placement to keep bedrooms and neighbours comfortable.
Many single-zone installs finish in one day. Multi-zone or complex line routes may take one to two days. We confirm timeline in the written quote.
Often yes for qualifying cold-climate models. We check current Enbridge and federal programs and note eligibility on your proposal.
Yes. Call 647 953-4252 with your model numbers. We diagnose communication faults, iced coils, and outdoor failures across major brands.
Cost depends on equipment capacity, brand, duct or piping complexity, electrical/gas upgrades, and whether you repair or replace. We provide written quotes after a site assessment so you can compare options fairly. Call 647 953-4252 for a visit.
Yes. We are based in North York at 132 Cartwright Ave and regularly serve Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Brampton, and nearby communities.
Yes. Gas and refrigeration work is performed by TSSA-licensed technicians. We follow Ontario code practice for venting, refrigerant handling, electrical disconnects, and condensate management.
